About Glimfly
Glimfly exists because we hit every wall this site describes. Personally.
Who makes this
Glimfly is built in public from Switzerland by a beginner vibe coder and his AI co-director. That division of labor is real: one of us has the taste and the questions, the other writes most of the code, and neither of us pretends otherwise. The walls on this site (the stuck loops, the fear of touching working code, the API key that almost went public) come from our own sessions, not from research about other people.
Why it exists
AI coding agents gave millions of people the power to build software without understanding what they built. The tools race to make you need to understand even less. We think that race has a cost, and Anthropic's own research put a number on it. So we're building the other direction: Glim, a small firefly that lives beside your coding agent and explains what it does in plain words, while it happens. Create with AI, understand what you create.
How the content gets made
Every dictionary entry and guide starts from real questions people ask (we harvested hundreds from Reddit and forums), gets written in plain words, then goes through a separate fact-checking pass against primary sources: official docs, published studies, vendor pricing pages. When we can't verify something, we say so or leave it out. Sources are listed at the bottom of pages that make factual claims. When we get something wrong anyway, tell us and we'll fix it fast.
Where things stand
Today: a free dictionary (no signup), free guides, and a waitlist for the app. The app is in development, Claude Code first. While you browse, this site counts page views anonymously and nothing more: no cookies, no cross-site trackers, no profile of you. The full detail is on the privacy page.
